Det 880 Celebrates AFROTC Cadet Change of Command Ceremony

LEXINGTON, Va. April 29, 2024 — The AFROTC Cadet Change of Command ceremony took place this April 25, at Det 880.

The guidon is exchanged during the change of command as a symbolic gesture providing a tangible view of the command authority being transferred from one commander to the next.

The primary purpose of a change of command ceremony is to allow subordinates to witness the formality of command change from one officer to another.

Following the ceremony, Cadet Vissicchio expressed his excitement for the upcoming semester, stating, "my staff and I have a lot of great ideas and the drive to see them through. I cannot wait to see what the next term has to offer."
