Institute Scholars Program
Since its founding in 1839, the Virginia Military Institute has recognized and rewarded outstanding academic achievement. Today, approximately 108 cadets attend the Institute with all or partial academic scholarships awarded in recognition of their accomplishments.
If you are an academically talented and intellectually curious student with a well-balanced high school record that includes leadership roles and a broad spectrum of extracurricular activities, you may be eligible to join this elite group of scholar-cadets. Financial need is not a criterion for selection.
There are two award categories:
Institute Scholars
Superintendent's Scholars
Note: The application is the same for both scholarship categories.
Application procedures:
To be considered for the Institute and Superintendent’s Scholarship Program and in order to schedule an interview the following materials must be received by the VMI Admissions Office no later than February 1, 2010. Candidates are advised to complete the scholarship application package and have their materials submitted as early as possible.
