Preston Library
The mission of Preston Library is to provide library materials and services of the highest quality; to teach skills needed for academic inquiry and lifelong learning; to support faculty and undergraduate research; to provide access to and promote the use of Institute historical materials; to support the creation and use of multimedia by cadets and faculty; and to offer library services to the community at large.
Academic Advising
Upon entry into the Institute, cadets are assigned an academic adviser to assist with academic and personal goals.
Athletic Academic Advising
Athlete cadets work with specially-trained advisers and tutors.
Career Services
Cadets use state-of-the art technological resources for career planning and obtain individual professional counseling.
Disabilities Services
Cadets with declared disabilities obtain professional counseling, access to assistive technology, and direction in acquiring accommodations.
Center for Leadership & Ethics
Advance the understanding, practice, and integration of leadership and character development at the Institute and share insights gleaned from the VMI programs with a broader national audience.
Miller Academic Center
Cadets obtain personal academic counseling from specialized counselors and engage in peer tutoring and mentoring programs.
The Institute Writing Center
Working closely with writing experts, cadets improve writing in various disciplines.
