Equity Committee

At the heart of Vision 2039 is an emphasis on the culture of the Institute, ensuring a climate that fosters “commonality of purpose” among the whole VMI family, integrating our tasks and activities in such a way that all of our actions and efforts are synchronized to achieve maximum results.

We strive to create a culture of caring and civility, in which caring is described by Gen. Peay as “bone deep” within each VMI employee for responsibility, supervision, and support of the community and where expressions of civility are not "superficial behaviors," but manifestations of genuine caring.

The Superintendent formed the Equity Committee as a barometer to monitor issues that affect these cultural values.

The Equity Committee meets bi-monthly to provide a forum in which to review equity-related issues or concerns and to recommend a resolution to the Superintendent.
