Mathematics Tutors (part-time)

VMI is accepting applications for part-time tutors in the Open Mathematics Lab(OML) for the Spring 2014 semester. The OML is an innovative, progressive, and open environment wherein cadets may seek direct guidance in support of their mathematics studies. The primary responsibility of OML tutors is to provide cadet tutoring for all high-demand mathematics offered by VMI, including: pre-calculus, probability and statistics, differential equations, and matrix algebra. Pay is $25/hr.
Minimum qualifications include: strong math skills in pre-calculus, probability and statistics, differential equations, and matrix algebra. Previous experience in tutoring or teaching these topics is also required.
Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in mathematics or related field, previous experience in tutoring or teaching probability and statistics.
Several evening tutors are needed. Work hours will be 6:00pm until 11:00pm, and based on interest and availability, one to four times a week, Sunday through Thursday.
