Learning Outcomes
- Club members exercise the organization skills needed to implement a schedule and tracking system for recycling in Barracks.
- Club members develop leadership capabilities in order to coordinate the help of PT cadets to augment Barracks recycling.
- Club members learn and practice strategies for encouraging the public to participate in recycling by using a pledge campaign and being ambassadors for tailgate recycling.
Activities
- Staff a table at the Club Fair to recruit new members
- Maintain containers, signs, carts, dumpsters, and ramp required for comprehensive recycling centers in Barracks
- Responsible for twice-weekly recycling process using multiple club members and PT cadets, and synchronized with City of Lexington pick up schedule
- Hold monthly coordination meetings
- Provide critical support for participation in national recycling events: Game Day Challenge, America Recycles Day, and RecycleMania
- Educate attendees of the Environment Virginia Symposium
