Ian Taylor is Professor in International Relations at the University of St. Andrews’ School of International Relations and also holds professorships in the School of International Studies, Renmin University of China; Institute of African Studies, Zhejiang Normal University, China; and the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He has authored seven scholarly books, edited another seven and has published over one hundred peer-reviewed academic articles and book chapters. Prior to joining St Andrews he taught African Politics at the University of Botswana, for four years. He has conducted research in and/or visited 32 African countries. He holds a DPhil from the University of Stellenbosch and an MPhil from the University of Hong Kong.
