Learning objectives:

  • Participants will learn the nature of olfactory stimuli, the anatomy of the nose and basics of the brain process of smelling.
  • Participants will learn that olfaction is far more important to humans than most believe.
  • Participants will learn the role genetics play in olfaction.
  • Participants will learn the role olfaction plays in eating.
  • Participants will learn the relationship between olfaction and neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's.
