Embracing the Mobile Device/BYOD Challenge at VCCSTom Bowers

From student, to faculty, to the staff that supports them both, mobile devices are playing a much larger role at VCCS. There is an emerging push to consider BYOD as a strategic differentiator. With 23 community colleges and the System Office that supports them, a number of initiatives have arisen. This session will detail that challenges we face, the decisions being made and how we believe that BYOD can make a difference in the classroom. Lastly, we'll talk about the proposed VITA/D.O.A. Mobile Device standard under review and its potential implications for higher education in Virginia.
