Jobie J. Siemer

Jobie Siemer is a graduate of Ohio University. During his college years, Mr. Siemer served as President of City Council (Mayor Pro Temp) for the Village of Corning, Ohio and seminar lecturer on rural development in Appalachian Communities. His volunteer time included working for a variety of organizations concerning local labor history, the American Civil War, coaching and developing leadership within rural Appalachia.

After graduation, Mr. Siemer enlisted in the regular Army and subsequently attended Officer Candidate School. Mr. Siemer commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry. Mr. Siemer is also a graduate from the Army's Airborne Course, the Anti-Armor Leaders Course, Basic Officer Leaders Course (BOLC) II, Infantry BOLC, and Army Ranger Course.

Mr. Siemer was next assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division with 3rd Brigade, 1st Battalion of the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He served for over two years as an Infantry Platoon Leader with one rotation in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and received the Combat Infantry Badge for combat operations.

In 2010, he successfully passed Special Forces Selection and was accepted to the Special Forces Qualification Course. After completing the Maneuver Captains Career Course and Special Forces Qualification Course, Mr. Siemer transitioned from active service to the Ohio National Guard. Mr. Siemer is currently a Captain serving as a Detachment Commander with 19th Special Forces Group.
