Core Curriculum.

In addition to developmental leadership activities implemented through the class system, cadets benefit from preparation in a rigorous core curriculum that begins in the Rat year and continues throughout the cadetship, regardless of major.

I.     Key Competencies 

              WR 101 - English Composition I - 6 hours
              WR 102 - English Composition II - 6 hours 
              SE 300 - Public Speaking - 1 hour
              Scientific Analysis (approved BI, CH, or PY sequence) - 8 hours
              Mathematical Reasoning (approved MA sequence) - 6 hours
              Physical Education (seven semesters) 4 hours

II.     Foundations of Citizenship and Leadership
              Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) - 8 hours
              PS 344 - Leadership in Organizations - 3 hours

III.     Perspectives on Civilization and Human Achievement
              HI 103 - World History I - 6 hours
              HI 104 - World History II - 6 hours
              Civilizations and Cultures (two approved electives) - 6 hours
