Dates:  June 24 - August 3, 2013 

The Virginia Program at oxford is a VMI sponsored, interdisciplinary summer school program based at St. Anne's College, Oxford University.  The six-week program, which is open to students of any major after their first year, examines the history and literature of Renaissance England.  Instruction follow the English system of higher education, combining daily lectures by renowned British scholars with small, weekly tutorials.  Students, drawn from a sex-school consortium of small Virginia colleges and universities, earn three credits in history and three credits in English. The VMI Program Director is Duncan Richter, VMI Professor of Psychology.

Eligibility: The program is designed for rising seniors and juniors although sophomores may apply. Acceptance is competitive.

Fees: $7500*. Fees include tuition, full room and board, library admissions, and group excursions to Shakespeare productions in London and Stratford-upon-Avon. It does NOT include roundtrip airfare.

*Subject to exchange rate.  Exact fee will be set in February.

Completed applications are due by February 15, 2013.  An application fee of $250 must accompany each application.  In the case of successful candidates, this fee will be applied to the cost of the program.   The fee is returned if the student is not accepted.

Announcement of acceptances will be made in early March 2013.
