CE451 - Civil Engineering Seminar
This class, for Civil Engineering 1st Class cadets, covers a variety of topics, incorporating all branches of the civil engineering curriculum at VMI. Technical papers and research projects are assigned. Speakers from businesses in the public and private sectors are brought to campus to give presentations. Field trips are taken to several different companies throughout the term so that students can see first hand the on-site operations of the types of companies that may be their employers in the not-too-distant future. These experiences inside and out of the classroom help students gain a better understand of the workings of all sub-disciplines within the field of civil engineering.
