Information Technology & Design Minor

Information, computers, and information technology play a dominant role in shaping the world and will be evermore pervasive as we progress into the 21st Century. The Information Technology and Design minor is intend for Liberal Arts, Business, Humanities and other majors who seek to develop basic skills in understanding and applying computers within their chosen field.

Graduates with an Information Technology and Design (ITD) Minor:   

  • Demonstrate a grasp of information theories and technology fundamentals.
  • Apply computer skills to develop and implement solutions to applied problems in their major field individually and in teams.
  • Demonstrate background for ethical and professional practice through service to industry; government; and to the US military either serving on active duty or in the reserves.
  • Draw on their major field using information technology and experiences to help resolve relevant, current and emerging societal needs.

Cadets interested in pursuing expertise in information technology may obtain an ITD minor. The minor consists of a minimum of 16 credits in ITD or related courses.

Facilities

We offer state of the art computer facilities with teaching-oriented faculty and laboratories for networking, computer forensics and human computer interaction. Classes in the minor are small, averaging 15 students, and are taught by tenured or tenure track faculty.
