This cadet-led program encourages reading and discussion on leadership topics by cadets, faculty, and staff, including topics on current and sometimes controversial issues.
Any VMI cadet is eligible to participate in the Leadership Book Club. Cadets select books from a variety of genres, all with a leadership focus, nominated by VMI faculty and staff. Cadets in the club expect to read and discuss up to five books throughout the course of an academic year. Periodically, authors visit VMI to speak to a wider audience and host book signings which are open to all cadets, faculty, and staff.
- Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life...And Maybe the World by William H. McRaven.
- Why They Do It, Inside the Minds of the White Collar Criminals by Eugene Soltes
- Legacy by James Kerr
