Other Gifts

Many ways exist to support VMI

Stocks, Bonds, and Mutual Funds

If you have plans to donate securities to the VMI Foundation, please contact Warren J. “Buddy” Bryan ’71, the VMI Foundation’s Vice President for Major Gifts, at 1.800.444.1839, ext. 236, or via e-mail.

Matching Gifts

Many companies and foundations will double or even triple the value of charitable gifts made by employees and their spouses, board members, and retirees. Ask your current or former employer to match your gift. And don’t forget: your spouse and friends can also give through matching gifts.  For more information on matching gifts, please contact John J. Wranek III '85, Vice President for Annual and Reunion Giving at 1.800.444.1839, ext. 244, or via e-mail.

Bank Draft

With your authorization, the VMI Foundation can debit your checking account once per month in the amount you designate. To sign up, please contact John J. Wranek III '85, Vice President for Annual and Reunion Giving, at 1.800.444.1839, ext. 244, or via e-mail.

Personal Property

If you would like to donate personal property – such as rare books, antiques, or artwork – to VMI, please keep in mind that some gifts require appraisal or advance approval before they can be accepted.  Those who wish to give such gifts immediately should contact Warren J. “Buddy” Bryan ’71, the VMI Foundation’s Vice President for Major Gifts, at 1.800.444.1839, ext. 236, or via e-mail.  Those who plan to make deferred gifts of personal property should contact the VMI Foundation’s Vice President for Planned Giving, Terrie I. Conrad, at 1.800.444.1839, ext. 238, or via e-mail.

Real Estate

All gifts of real estate require prior approval by the VMI Foundation. A gift of real estate may be a principal residence or vacation home, a farm, a commercial building, a subdivision lot, or unimproved land. The gift may be the entire property or a fractional interest in the property.

Those who want to make gifts of real estate through planned giving should contact the VMI Foundation’s Vice President for Planned Giving, Terrie I. Conrad.  The VMI Foundation’s Vice President for Major Gifts, Warren J. “Buddy” Bryan ’71, will help those who want to make an immediate gift of real estate.  He may be contacted at 1.800.444.1839, ext. 236, or via e-mail.
