Local Resources

Cadets*, faculty and staff have library privileges at all local libraries. *Cadets, remember to adhere to Blue Book policies when visiting a local library in person.

George C. Marshall Research Library
Open Monday-Friday from 0900-1630 - the collection does not circulate.

Rockbridge Regional Library
Located at 138 S. Main Street, Lexington.

Southern Virginia University Library
Located in Buena Vista, the SVU Library is open to VMI students, faculty and staff.

Washington & Lee University Libraries
Members of the VMI community may use the Leyburn, Telford and Law School Libraries. Books checked out from Leyburn and Telford must also be returned to Leyburn & Telford. The Law School Library is non-circulating.

Virginia Resources

VMI is a participating member of VIVA (The Virtual Library of Virginia).  To search the catalogs of other VIVA Member schools like JMU, Virginia Tech, and UVA visit VA Schools & Catalogs.
