James E. Rogers '67
A member of the Class of 1967, James E. Rogers is president of SCI Investors Inc., a private equity investment firm that specializes in venture capital and investing in early-stage private companies. Rogers is on the boards of various companies, including Caraustar Industries, Inc.; Owens and Minor, Inc.; Wellman, Inc.; and New Market Corporation.
Rogers is a vice president of the VMI Board of Visitors. He joined the Board in 2004, and in 2008, received reappointment. From 2000 to 2002, Rogers served as the president of the VMI Foundation, and he was a member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees from 1997 to 2004. Rogers also is chairman of the Virginia Institute of Marine Science Council, the marine environmental research school of the College of William & Mary, and vice chairman of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
