Rugby (Men's & Women's)
Rugby has been a long time favorite club sport among cadets. The team is so large that it caters an A side, for the team's top players, and a B side, for those who are working to be on the A side.
Both teams compete against schools across the East coast. For the past 4 years VMI has had an excellent rugby record. They practice as much as they are able to get field time, sometimes up to 5 days a week.
Games are scheduled for Saturdays due to high cadet, alumni, and family support. The men's team is currently working their way up to a Virginia State Championship. The women's team is new this year, and is looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead. It is a challenging and tough game, but it is arguably the most fun you will have as a cadet.
