Have your recruit visit the Post

One of the most important steps in the admissions process is for the prospective cadet and their parents to visit Post. There are numerous on-Post activities available for both student and parent to get a close look at the Institute and the daily lives of cadets. The most comprehensive opportunity to do this is to attend an Open House Program. During your discussions with prospective cadets encourage their attendance at one of the Open House programs. As alumni and members of the VMI community we all know how important it is to get a first hand look at Barracks, and Barracks life.

In addition to attending an Open House, encourage your prospective cadets to schedule an admissions interview where they will talk individually with a member of the admissions staff. Interviews are best during a students junior and senior year.

A Tour of Post is also encouraged. Tours are conducted on a daily basis Monday through Friday at 1115 and 1515.
