Director of Undergraduate Research

Current members of the VMI faculty are invited to apply for the position of Director of Undergraduate Research.

With COL Jim Turner’s reassignment as Head of the Department of Biology, the new director will lead VMI’s nationally recognized program into its second decade of growth and development.

The ideal candidate will have proven leadership, administrative, and communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to the principles of undergraduate research. The director will

  • Promote an expansive vision of undergraduate research across Post
  • Establish URI priorities through strategic planning, assessment, and budgeting
  • Administer various components of the URI
  • Provide guidance to the Associate Director and staff
  • Represent VMI at national meetings and conferences

Candidates with the Ph.D. are preferred.  This position reports to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
