Mathematics Faculty Position

The Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for one of two full-time, tenure-track faculty positions in applied mathematics at the assistant or associate professor level.  The appointment begins 1 August 2010.  Each position requires a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field.  We are particularly interested in applicants with background in numerical methods, modeling, operations research or statistics. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching, including the ability to mentor undergraduates in capstone projects, and have an ongoing program of scholarly activity.  The successful candidates will teach a wide variety of undergraduate courses.  Faculty members are expected to participate in cadet development and professional citizenship duties, such as advising and committee work.  Members of the faculty wear uniforms and adhere to military customs and courtesy although military experience is not required.
