Registered Nurse

Virginia Military Institute is seeking a full-time, night shift Registered Nurse. This is a salaried 11-month position with full state benefits. Duties include but are not limited to:

•    Provide overnight nursing services in a fast-paced student health clinic for 1,600 students.
•    Conduct initial patient assessments, monitor changes in condition.
•    Communicate with on-call medical providers as needed.
•    Administer medications and provide treatments.

The hours are 7pm-7am with every other weekend and holidays off during the academic year. Some daylight summer hours (mid-May through mid-August) may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Must be comfortable working independently within the scope of RN licensure. 
•    Must be proficient in computer skills.
•    Requires graduation from accredited school of nursing.
•    Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
•    Excellent nursing assessment and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Comfortable in urgent nursing care of adolescent patients.
