The Virginia Military Institute is accepting applications for a Datacenter Engineer to manage all aspects of configuration and maintenance of the Institutes server environment. Applicants must possess exceptional technical and troubleshooting abilities and excellent verbal and written communications skills. The successful applicant must excel in a team environment or on an individual basis.
The Datacenter Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the Institutes Server environments including comprehensive administration, maintenance, monitoring, and technical support. This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Windows infrastructure solutions including analyzing, testing, and providing improvement recommendations for all issues encountered.
The successful candidate is required to perform after hours work when circumstances dictate.
- Substantial Experience supporting:
- Microsoft Server Operating Systems
- Exchange / Office 365 Email systems
- Active Directory
- Windows Hyper-V virtual environment
- Citrix Applications
- DNS and DHCP
- Storage, iSCSI, SAN
- Backup and Recovery services
- Azure cloud services
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent applicable work experience.
