Preston Library contains a circulating collection of 185,000 monographs and 40,000 serial volumes (in addition to over 100,000 e-books). All of Preston's physical books and e-books can be found in the library catalog.

New books and recreational reading can be found in the Periodical Room on the main (500) level. 

If you need a book that Preston Library doesn't have, there are a few options:

• Suggest it for purchase
  If it's a book that you think Preston Library should have in its collection, recommend it for purchase! 
• Borrow it through interlibrary loan
  If you need a book for temporary use only, you can request to borrow it from another library. 
• Visit a nearby library
  All VMI cadets and faculty have borrowing privileges at W&L, SVU, and Rockbridge Regional Library.
