Event Parking

Parking will be allowed on the Parade Ground, weather permitting, for all activities.  On May 16, the Jordan's Point entrance and Parade Ground parking will open at 7:30 a.m.  Please follow the directions of VMI personnel as they assist you to park.

Parking is available on a first come, first served basis. Once on Post parking is filled, you should proceed to the off Post parking locations described below and use the shuttle services provided.

On weekends, there are no time limits for parking on the street or in city parking lots.  Contact the Lexington Visitor Center for more information.

Parking will not be permitted on Letcher Avenue on either sides of the road along the Parade Ground.

Please pay attention to the traffic pattern for the departure of cadets after Commencement.  The area in front of Barracks will be congested with all of the cadets trying to depart at the same time.  Vehicles should remain parked on the Parade Ground, when possible, and the cadet’s belongings carried to the vehicle.  The VMI Police need your assistance and patience to ensure that the cadet departure is accomplished in the quickest and safest manner possible.   

If heavy rain makes parking on the Parade Ground impractical, the following parking options are available: Satellite parking will be available in the Lowe's lower parking lot (next to WalMart), a shuttle service will be provided from the parking lot to Cameron Hall.  Additional parking may be found throughout post in permanent parking areas.

Shuttle service will run during posted periods when satellite parking is used.  Signage will be placed at the following locations when they are being used:

The satellite parking is located at Lowe's on Rt. 11 in Lexington. Next to the WalMart.

Parking will be available at Lowe's from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 15 and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 16. Shuttle service will be provide between continuously this location and post during these periods.
