Road Closures and Traffic Flow June 17-24
LEXINGTON, Va., June 14, 2019—Letcher Avenue will be closed Monday, June 17, through Wednesday, June 19, due to the impending demolition of the Bachelor Officers’ Quarters (post police building) at 301 Letcher Avenue. During this time, visitors are encouraged to enter post through Jordan’s Point.
In addition, Maiden Lane, which runs between Letcher Avenue and Main Street, will be closed from Monday, June 17, at 7 a.m. until Friday, July 5, at 5 p.m. This closure is necessary not only for the demolition of the Bachelor Officers’ Quarters but also for the installation of a new sewer line in the area. During this period, access to the South Institute Hill parking lot will be from Main Street at its intersection with Diamond Street. Signage in the parking lot will indicate new temporary traffic flow. Please use caution.
