Career Fairs

Career Fairs provide excellent opportunities to meet with employers who advertise job and internship opportunities each year.  It allows cadets to meet with employers and recruiters face to face and ask questions about opportunities.  Below are a number of annual Career Fairs that could be helpful in your job or internship searching.

  • CHALLENGE is a job fair in November.  CHALLENGE is an award winning career fair designed to bring juniors, seniors and recent graduates together with representatives from various companies and agencies. It is an effective way for employers to meet and recruit students from 8 prestigious Virginia colleges/universities.

  • DIVERSITY CAREER DAY Students from all colleges and universities across Virginia and Washington, DC are welcome to attend. Last year, more than 150 corporations, government agencies, and non-profit organizations participated. Many recruiters have specifically indicated that they like this event because they have the opportunity to meet students from so many different schools. Location: Newcomb Hall, 3rd Floor, University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA. 
     
  • CAREER PREMIERE is another career fair opportunity for VMI cadets to attend.  Eight schools support this fair and have given an open invitation for us to attend.  Please check the employers attending to see if you are interested in attending another great career fair.
     
  • SOUTHERN TEACHERS FAIR. The Southern Teachers Agency (STA) hosts an annual teacher recruitment fair in Charlottesville so that private school teachers can find the best teaching vacancies.  Registration for schools and candidates will begin in April 2011.  In order to attend as a candidate, you must be an active STA candidate.
