The goal of Commonwealth of Virginia Energy Symposium (COVES) is to inform Virginia decision-makers of the latest scientific research, policy initiatives, environmental concerns, and economic opportunities related to energy and to foster rich debate on these issues.
Through sessions and networking opportunities, COVES seeks to help Virginia businesses, governments, organizations, and citizens position themselves to anticipate energy challenges and opportunities so that Virginia will become a leader in energy conservation and efficiency and renewable and sustainable conventional energy production.
The conference is coordinated for the Commonwealth by the Virginia Military Institute, Center for Leadership and Ethics and Virginia Sustainable Future Forum. VMI takes the lead in the odd-numbered years and VSFF take the lead in the even-numbered years. COVES 2009 is coodinated by VMI and will take place in Lexington, Virginia. Next fall, COVES 2010 will return to Richmond and the management of the VSFF.
