Tuesday, Session Three - Breakout Room A
Network Virtualization and Security
Doug Streit & Rizwan Bhutta
Network architecture in an Enterprise is an evolving scenario that can take years to change. The development of security threats against Higher Education institutions has forced changes in network designs. Going from a traditional campus network with a premium on academic openness to a business\academic model in which business security rules can be applied to the administrative operation while an open network architecture can be maintained for academic and research operations has taken years to develop. This is a high level description of that transition at Old Dominion University that began in 2007 and is coming to fruition in 2012.
