Charting Our Future:  New Tools for Complex Challenges

Thank you to the 660 environmental professionals who participated. Roughly 27% of attendees were first-time participants and 12% have participated more than 12 years. Building relationships and attending breakout sessions were the major drivers for their coming to the symposium.

Dr. Bob Johansen, Institute for the Future, opened the conference. His presentation inspired our attendees and was the topic of much discussion throughout the three days. A total of 159 professionals presented on topics ranging from nutrient credit trading to reputation building with social media; from materials recovery to sea level rise. Presenters represented diverse sectors, including: business and industry (29%), academia (23%), NGOs (16%), and state and local governments (14.5% each).
