VMI Foundation Announces FY 2012 Fundraising Results
July 19, 2012
In Fiscal Year 2012, donors to VMI entrusted the VMI Foundation with $26.5 million in gifts and commitments, announced Brian Scott Crockett, the Chief Executive Officer of the VMI Foundation, on July 17.
“Alumni and friends of VMI gave more than $11.1 million in immediate gifts and pledge payments in support of the Institute,” Mr. Crockett reported. “On top of that, they added about $15.4 million in commitments, including pledges to the Foundation Fund.”
“Planned giving vehicles, such as bequests and trusts, continued to find favor with our donors,” continued Mr. Crockett. “This past year, they used them to make $13.2 million in commitments to the Institute, thus helping to preserve the high quality of VMI’s education in the future.”
Mr. Crockett also pointed out the success of the Foundation Fund, the means by which the VMI Family provides unrestricted funds to the academic and co-curricular components of VMI’s extraordinary education. In Fiscal Year 2012, the Foundation Fund received $2,690,564 from more than 4,100 donors—including 2,768 alumni.
“The generosity of all of our donors means that, in the short- and long-term, VMI will have the resources it needs to reinforce its many successes as well as to pursue new opportunities for excellence throughout the entire range of its academic and co-curricular programs,” said Mr. Crockett.
“All donors to VMI, no matter where they directed their gifts this past fiscal year, merit the thanks of the entire VMI Family for their generosity and for their leadership in support of VMI and the exceptional young men and women in the Corps of Cadets.”
