LEXINGTON, Va., Dec. 20, 2012 – New parking regulations established by the city of Lexington will go into effect Jan. 1 on North Main, Diamond, and Randolph streets.
The establishment of a residential parking district near Cameron Hall will limit parking in that area. The district consists of Diamond Street, from Ruff Lane to Lewis Street, and Randolph Street, from Dorman Lane to Parry Lane. Only residents and their guests displaying parking permits will be permitted to park alongside these routes.
The city’s plan also provides for the elimination of overnight parking along North Main Street for everyone except residents, who will receive parking permits. Parking along North Main Street will be restricted between the hours of 2 and 5 a.m.
Appropriate signage will be installed along these routes, and violators will be ticketed and possibly towed.
