2013-09-20, 0800 hours - Network Outage

Update:  1632 hours:  All remaining services have been completely restored and should be fully operational.  Users who continue to experience any issues are to contact the Help Desk at Help@vmi.edu or call 7643.

Update 1511 hours:  The network outage today was caused by hardware failure.  Most services have been restored and the network administrators are continuing to work with the vendor to restore the remaining services and determine how to prevent any future instances from occurring.  Information Technology realizes this interruption of service has been an inconvenience, and your patience and support is greatly appreciated.

 Update 1120 hours:  Some windows services have been restored allowing access to the internet and email server.  As the email server catches up with the downtime, users may experience slow or delayed responses when sending and receiving email.  More updates will be made available as services are restarted.

The VMI Network is experiencing several service outages.  Services are expected to be restored within 3-5 hours.  Additional information will be made available as progress is made.
