Alumni Volunteer Recruiters
One of the most important responsibilities at any college or university is the recruitment and enrollment of new students. The importance of this task takes on a special meaning at VMI where new students become new cadets. The goal of “Team Admissions” is to encourage all alumni, and parents to participate in the new cadet recruiting process. It is only with strong support from all members of the VMI family that we can identify and recruit the most qualified and motivated new cadets to undertake the challenge of the VMI experience.
New cadet recruiting includes numerous activities; college fairs, personal interviews by alumni, high school visits, alumni-sponsored receptions, open house weekends, parent council functions, and others. Your knowledge of VMI as an alumnus, parent, or both makes you uniquely valuable in each of these roles. It is our hope that you will choose to learn more about the admissions process and participate in the activity that best suits you.
We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the information in the following links as well as the information in our printed materials. Participation in New Cadet Recruiting is a rewarding experience that gives you a direct role in shaping the future Corps of Cadets.
