CAPT Brian Quisenberry, Associate Director of Financial Aid
CAPT Brian Quisenberry graduated from VMI in 1981 and was commissioned as an ensign in May of that year. He served on active duty from May 1981 until leaving the active service in September 1986. In August 1987 he joined the VMI Office of Admissions serving as both Assistant and Associate Director until October 2005. That some month he transferred to the Financial Aid Office and assumed duties as the Associate Director of Financial Aid.
CAPT Quisenberry continued his military service in the reserve component and was mobilized in support of Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm, January-April 1991, assigned to Naval Beach Group Two. His most recent deployment was in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, October 2009-September 2010, where he served as NAVCENT Liaison Officer to United States Division-South, Basra, Iraq. He retired from the U.S. Navy June 1, 2011 following 30 years of commissioned service. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), Joint Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal.
CAPT Quisenberry received an MBA from James Madison University, July 1997. He is a graduate of the Naval War College and Joint Forces Staff College. He is married to the former Jessica C. Birchfield of Enterprise, Alabama. They have two children.
CAPT Quisenberry's hobbies include golf, hunting, and reading a good book.
