Wetmore Fund

The VMI Undergraduate Research Initiative has programs that provide funds for cadet research during the academic year.

The Wetmore Fund for Cadet Research 

The Wetmore Fund provides funds, up to a maximum of $ 300.00, for procuring supplies to initiate a research project during the academic year.

To request funds, submit a proposal that includes

• a brief (half-page to a page) project description,
• a short, signed letter of support from your supervising faculty member that indicates the faculty member’s support of the project,
• an itemized estimate of expenses

(This form must be submitted by email to Leslie Joyce joycelh@vmi.edu in the URI office at least two weeks prior to travel.)

Fall Deadline: Proposals submitted before October 15 will be given preference, although proposals submitted after that date will be considered on a rolling basis.

Spring Deadline: Proposals submitted before February 15 will be given preference, although proposals submitted after that date will be considered on a rolling basis.
