SBD - ODE Activity

In February, the SBD Honor Society sponsored a presentation my Mr. David Adams, VMI ’84, the CEO of Intelitap in Richmond.  Intelitap is a global company that manages all phases of the supply chain for many large food and beverage companies.  Mr. Adams discussed several ways his business applies concepts and principles that cadets are currently learning in their Marketing, Operations Management, and Statistics courses.  Mr. Adams also coordinated interviews for Cadets seeking full-time employment and summer internships in supply chain management. Two rising first-class cadets will be working as interns at Intelitap this summer.

Additionally, Sigma Beta Delta organized a panel of alumni from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia to give Cadets a better perspective on the application process and the benefits of graduate school in the current job market. Participants included Joseph Pederson ’03, Ryan Peay ’02, and Rob McLean ’03 who are currently enrolled at Darden as well as Reggie Webb ’75 from the Darden Administration Office and Vincent LaPietra ’03 who is enrolled in the JAG program at UVA.

ODE continues to produce the ECBU Online Journal which presents a sampling of the student writing. New this year was the Best Paper award given to Cadet Christopher Martin for his paper “An Economic Superpower: Trade and Pollution in China.” Further, ODE held weekly meetings to discuss the political economic issues of the day.
