Beta Gamma Sigma

BGS inducteesAs an AACSB-accredited program, VMI was invited to create a new chapter of the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society.  To join this organization, students must be in the upper 10% of their class with at least junior standing.  At the EC/BU departmental awards ceremony in April, nine cadets joined three faculty members in accepting membership into Beta Gamma Sigma.  Four faculty members were previously members of this organization.  Dr. Phil Gibbs, a professor in the Williams School of Commerce, Economics, and Politics at Washington & Lee University and president of the W&L chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, also issued VMI its charter at the awards ceremony, officially recognizing the department as the home of an active Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter.  Beta Gamma Sigma will replace Sigma Beta Delta as the business honor society at VMI.
