Holiday Schedule
There are 12 state paid holidays on which the Institute is officially closed for normal business.
2008 Holiday Schedule:
- Memorial Day - VMI will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday 26 May 2008.
- Independence Day - VMI will be closed for Independence Day on Friday 4 July 2008.
- The schedule for the Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year's Holidays will be published later this year (no later than Novemeber) along with any additional days that may be authorized by the Governor.

Kings Dominion Discount Coupons
The HR Office has a supply of discount coupons available for various dates throughout the summer for Kings Dominion. Please contact the HR Office for more information.
Hotel Savings Card
The "Big South Conference" has provided the VMI HR Office with hotel discount cards for "Choice" hotels. The cards can be used at the following hotels: Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cabria Suites, MainStay Suites, Econo Lodge, Rodeway Inn, and Suburban. Please contact the HR Office at ext. 7322 if you would like one of the discount cards.
Health Benefits - Request for Health Benefits ID Cards
To receive additional ID cards or replacement cards, a new health insurance ID card order line has been introduced. The new ID card order line is toll free at 1-866-587-6713. When you call, you will be asked for either your health care card ID number or your social security number. Regardless of the type of membership (single, employee + 1, or family) you will receive two new cards which will be mailed to your home address within 7 to 10 business days.
