Accreditation
Virginia Military Institute is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-2097: Telephone number 404-679-4501) to award Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. Any inquiries to the Commission should relate only to the accreditation status of VMI and not to general admission information.
It is a member of the American Council on Education, the Association of American Colleges, the College Entrance Examination Board, and the Association of Virginia Colleges.
The chemistry curriculum is approved by the American Chemical Society.
The civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and computer science curricula are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
