One view of the "Winchester photograph,"
taken in 1862. |
The military genius of Stonewall Jackson captured the popular imagination during the Civil War, and his photographs were widely reprinted following his death in May 1863. This exhibit includes the two famous wartime images --- the "Winchester" and "Chancellorsville" photos --- as well as lesser-known views which date from his pre-war life. It also features images of family, his horse "Little Sorrel", and other photos associated with Jackson.
