Spotlight: Sydney Williamson Papers. Panama Canal Engineering History

Sydney B. Williamson, VMI Class of 1884, served as Division Engineer of the Pacific Division of the Panama Canal from 1907-1914.  He directed the excavation of the Pedro Miguel and Miraflores locks;  and helped design and oversee construction of the Pacific Terminal docks, as well as the infrastructure for the towns of the division.
