In the Spring semester, we were fortunate to have three distinguished speakers address to our cadets. We appreciate the time they’ve taken to address our cadets. 

On 1 February 2007, Mr. Thomas Greenspon, VMI Class of '85, spoke to 1st and 2nd classmen. Mr. Greenspon is a vice president with Booz Allen Hamilton specializing in IT strategy and systems information for the U.S. Department of Defense. The subject of his talk was the importance of written and oral communication in the job market.

Mr. Gil Minor, VMI Class of 1963, spoke to 1st 2nd and 3rd classmen on February 27th. The topic of his remarks was "Taking a $6 Million Private Company to a $6 Billion Public Company." Mr. Minor is the Chairman of the Board of Owens & Minor, Inc, a $5 billion Fortune 500 distributor of medical and surgical supplies to hospitals, nursing homes and physicians, the President of the VMI Board of Visitors.

Dr. Lowell Catlett, the Dean of the New Mexico State University Department of Agricultural and Home Economics, visited VMI on Thursday, March 29th. In the afternoon, he engaged in a Q&A with our majors regarding the 21st century economy. Later that evening, he gave an address that was both informative and entertaining to the the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th class cadets as well as the 1st class ECBU majors in JM Hall. This presentation, entitled “New Frontier that Change Everything” focused on the constantly evolving US and world economy. The cadets showed their appreciation with a standing ovation.
