Career Path 

MSG Kenneth M. Pettis Jr. was born and raised in Vallejo California.  After graduating high school he joined the US Army Military Police Corp.  Upon graduating he was sent to Germany where he was assigned to the 527th MP Company in Wiesbaden Germany and did one tour in Iraq.  In route to his next duty station MSG Pettis attended the Traffic Accident Management course at Lockland Air Force Base.  Upon arriving to Fort Bragg MSG Pettis served as a traffic accident investigator, driver and a team member.  MSG Pettis next duty assignment was Fort Lewis WA, where he served as a team leader.  Upon leaving Fort Lewis MSG Pettis attended the Military Police Investigative Course at Fort McClellan AL.  MSG Pettis next duty station was Ansbach Germany where he held the position of Military Police Investigative Supervisor.  His next duty station was Fort Jackson SC, where held the positions of squad leader and Traffic Accident Investigator Supervisor.  MSG Pettis next duty station was Pusan Korea where he served as a squad leader.  MSG Pettis next duty station was Fort Carson, Colorado, and he served as the Sr. Desk Sergeant, MP Investigation Supervisor, Operations Sergeant and Platoon Sergeant with another tour to Iraq.  While in Iraq MSG Pettis was responsible for personal security of the Iraqi Official Cabinet members, along with the President of Iraq, with a follow on mission of instructing Police Stations on their Law Enforcement Mission in Iraq. 

MSG Pettis is a holds a BS in Criminal Justice from Troy University.  He is also is a graduated of 31B Basic and Initial Military Police School, along with Traffic Accident Management Course, Military Police Investigative Course, Drug Investigative Course, Domestic Violence Investigative Training, Child Abuse Prevention Investigative Course, Unit Prevention Leaders Course, Equal Opportunity Advisors Course, Level II Traffic Accident Investigator, Warrior Leaders Course, Basic NCO Course, Airborne School and the Advanced  Noncommissioned Officers Course.

Personal 

MSG Pettis is married to the former Tarra Grave from Casewell County, North Carolina,  They have three boys Chris, John and Tre.
