Samuel B. Witt III '58
Currently associated with Bryan Brothers, Inc. of Richmond, Va., Samuel B. Witt III has extensive legal experience in the Commonwealth, especially in the area of government relations. His involvement in civic affairs is extensive, as well—he is a trustee of the George C. Marshall Foundation, an honorary trustee of the University of Virginia Law School Foundation and a director of the College Orientation Workshop.
A member of the VMI Class of 1958, Witt served as a trustee the VMI Foundation from 1988 to 1994 and a member of the executive committee of the Reveille: A Call to Excel campaign. Witt also chaired the Class of 1958’s 50th Reunion Fund. From 1994 to 2005, Witt was a member of the VMI Board of Visitors, serving as its president from 2001 to 2005. During that time, he headed the effort to recruit the fourteenth superintendent of VMI.
