Charles W. Dunne is Scholar at the Middle East Institute in Washington, DC. He served as a Foreign Policy Adviser to the J-5, Director of Strategic Plans and Policy of the Joint Staff at the Pentagon (2007 – 2008), was Director for Iraq at the National Security Council (2005 – 2007). He is the author of several articles including, “The Role of Iraq in the Middle East: Threats to its Sovereignty, Prospects for its Future”. He earned an M.A. Arts in Arab Studies and B.S. Foreign Service from Georgetown University
