Cadets Take Part in EMT Training

Emergency Medical Service (EMS) at VMI is responsible for providing emergency medical care to the Corps of Cadets, staff, faculty, and visitors on and around post, and is a certified non-transport EMS agency that can handle 911 calls on post.
VMI Pipe Band Plays at Nashville Funeral of School Shooting Victim

Members of the Virginia Military Institute pipe band played at the funeral of Mike Hill, the 61-year-old custodian at the Covenant School and Covenant Presbyterian Church, April 4 at Stephens Valley Church in West Nashville, Tennessee.

Fireball, a five-year-old miniature donkey owned by Slone and her family, was brought to class for a demonstration using the Henneke Body Condition Scoring System (BCS), a method for evaluating equine nutritional status and body fat percentage.
VMI Econ & Business Class Welcomes High School DECA Winners

Virginia Military Institute cadets enrolled in the economics and business analytics class taught by Col. Barry Cobb, professor in the Department of Economics and Business, heard an award winning presentation by two juniors from Roanoke County’s Hidden Valley High School (HVHS). Madison Salinas and Alishba Sofi are both members of the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) at HVHS. DECA is an international association that prepares high school students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management through hands-on activities, competitions, and educational programs. VMI Ethics Team Wins Military Case Competition for Third Time

The Virginia Military Institute Ethics Team won first place at the Military Ethics Case Competition held April 12 at the United States Naval Academy Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership in Annapolis, Maryland. This is the third time the team has been victorious at the prestigious competition.
The Extra Mile: Rock Climbing Club

The club, which has about 15 cadets on the roster, practices three times a week. They also make excursions to cliffs and bouldering opportunities in the surrounding areas on the weekends.

Pistol Club Competes in National Championship for VMI

The competition consisted of 60 shots fired in three different shooting disciplines: air pistol, sport pistol, and standard pistol. VMI came in 10th place for air pistol, 8th place for sport pistol, and 10th place for standard pistol. The team finished the competition in 10th place.
