Staff Sergeant Robert Bain serves as the MSIV instructor. Staff Sergeant Bain was born in Royal Oak, Michigan. He joined the Army in January 2016 and attended OSUT (One Station Unit Training) at Fort Moore, GA, to be an Armor Crewman.

During his career, Staff Sergeant Bain has occupied every position on the Abrams Main Battle Tank from Driver, Loader, Gunner, and Tank Commander. Staff Sergeant Bain has deployed once to Camp Hovey, South Korea and twice to Europe during Operation Assure, Deter and Reinforce.

Staff Sergeant Bain has been assigned to the following units: 4th Squadron 9th U.S. Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. 2nd Armored Combat Team, 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. He is currently assigned as an MS-IV instructor for the Army ROTC Department at Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, Virginia.

Staff Sergeant Bain military and civilian education include HAZMAT, Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course and Field Sanitation. He is currently working on a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Leadership through University of Charleston.

Staff Sergeant Bain was on the Commandant’s list in Basic Leader Course. His awards and decorations include Army Commendation Medal (1), Army Achievement Medal (5), Army Good Conduct Medal (2), Korea Defense Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal (1), Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (2), Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon (3).
