Sergeant First Class Christopher Lopez serves as the MSIV instructor. Sergeant First Class Lopez was born in Palm Springs, California. He joined the Army in November of 2012 and attended OSUT (One Station Unit Training) at Fort Benning, GA, to be an Armor Crewman.

During his career, Sergeant First Class Lopez has occupied every position on the Abrams Main Battle Tank from Driver, Loader, Gunner, and Tank Commander. Staff Sergeant Lopez has deployed three times to Kuwait during Operation Spartan Shield and once to Germany during Operation Atlantic Resolve.

Sergeant First Class Lopez has been assigned to the following units: 2nd Battalion 8th Infantry 4th Infantry Division in Fort Carson Colorado, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment 4th Infantry Division in Fort Carson Colorado. 1st Battalion 66th Armor Regiment 4th Infantry Division in Fort Carson Colorado. He is currently assigned as an MS-IV instructor for the Army ROTC Department at Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, Virginia. Sergeant First Class Lopez military and civilian education include Unit Movement Officer, Master Driver, Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear, Equal Opportunity Leader, Unit Prevention Leader, Joint Capabilities Release Course, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Course, Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, He is currently working on an Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management through Purdue University Global.

Sergeant First Class Lopez was on the Commandant’s list in Basic Leader Course. His awards and decorations include Army Commendation Medal (7OLC), Army Achievement Medal (15OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (2), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (1OLC), Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (2), Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon.
